Not one crocheted bag but two! And with lots of options including a crocheted bag liner! Add to this a pyramid shaped crocheted rope, scrunchie earrings, drawstrings and Bogey fringe and you have a bead crochet kit full of fun!

These are original Beadwrangler designs. But they reflect the styles of bags during the late 1800's. And Lydia carries through the romantic flavor of these bags with her inspired color selections.

Lydia has worked for months with her testers to make these projects easy, fun and versatile.

Her 20 page instruction booklet with 30 illustrations includes clear, easy to follow instructions, readable crochet rounds with each round on its own line, and lots of ideas for using techniques in this kit to make jewelry items and to embellish other fiberart items such as weavings, quilts and needlework.

Romancing the Bag kits are available in four styles:

Cream - available in four pastel colors with off-white thread for an old world look.
Iris - available in eight rainbow beads with matching thread.
Rose - available in two rosy colors with matching rosy thread.
Vintage - available in eight luster colors with beige thread for a vintage look.
Antique - available in eight matte colors with beige thread for an antique look.

I wanted to keep the kit price as low as possible for people that just want to make one of the bags and a rope necklace. If you want to make both bags as well as the rope necklace, you can come back to 7Echoes later and order additional Jean Stitch thread and additional beads. You'll need one more spool of thread and one hank (one tube) of size 11/0 seed beads. You can probably make both bags with the kit supplies if you skip the bag liner and don't get too opulent with the Bogey fringe. Then, if you decide later that you want matching earrings, a rope necklace and a liner, you can order more thread and beads. Just tell me the kit model and I will tell you which beads and thread to order on the 7 Echoes order pages.

Kit Components

Beads
All beads are the highest quality Czech glass beads. Many of the colors we offer are new colors just recently available from the Czech Republic and are not generally available elsewhere. The seed beads are size 11 and the large bead for the necklace closure is 8mm.

Thread
The thread in these little bags is just as important as the beads and must be of a superior quality. I have selected Jean Stitch, a highly twisted size 30 thread that is luxurious in texture and sheen. It is a 100% spun polyester thread that is about the same thickness as sewing machine topstitching buttonhole twist. It comes on a 200 yard cone. It is machine washable, dry cleanable and colorfast.

Finishing Touches and Options

Lydia always gives you lots of extras in her kit instruction booklets. In this one she teaches you how to add a beaded drawstring strap and a crocheted drawstring strap. She also shows you how to embellish the straps with scrunchies and Bogey Fringe. You will also find instructions for Scrunchie earrings, Bogey Fringe earrings and Pyramid Rope earrings. As a finishing touch to your Pyramid Rope, Lydia shows you how to create a necklace closure using the 8mm glass bead included in the supplies.

When you finish this kit, you will have learned several new techniques. In her Future Options section, Lydia shows you how to add rings to your bags to convert them to "finger bags". She also covers crocheted covered buttons, scrunchies as embellishment, Bogey Fringe as embellishment (for quilts, weavings and needlework), making Pyramid jewelry and creating stud earrings with Scrunchies and Bogey Fringe.
