| I have been teaching bead crochet and sending out bead crochet
kits for quite awhile now. I designed this workshop based on the feedback I have
received. Many people, even those that have crocheted for a long time, have problems
learning bead crochet with thin thread and tiny beads. But that is what all those
great looking beaded bags, necklaces and lariats are made with - thin thread and tiny
beads. This workshop is designed around the methods that I have used to
teach bead crochet. They have never failed. It is easy. It is fun.
It is relaxing. And, it doesn't take a lot of time.
You start with big, thick thread and no beads. We review the basic
crochet stitches used in bead crochet with special emphasis on hook placement. Then
we add beads - big beads! We progress to medium size thread and beads and then thin
thread and tiny beads. Along the way, you will learn how to create both flat rows
and three-dimensional rounds. You will also experiment with different hook
placements using the same crochet stitch. You will be amazed at the different looks
and textures you can achieve with the same crochet stitch and different hook placement.
Your final project is a bead crochet rope necklace or a bead
crochet amulet bag - your choice. You even get to pick the color.
